Notes:
Having an octet structure, it would seem that krypton would not combine with
other elements. But in the 1960's, it was discovered that it would combine
with fluorine. Molecules of krypton consist of only one atom. About 20 radio-
active isotopes have been created by nuclear fission of urainium and other
elements. As a gas it is used in certain florescent lamps and special flash-
lamps used in high-speed photography.
